A cat is a big responsibility to care for. A cat needs to be neutered or fixed if you dont your cat wandering off and getting into trouble or in a females case, having kittens. You can get your cat fixed at your local vet. A cat loves pets and lots of attention. A cat brush comes in handy to brush your cat if its fur is all tangled.
A cat would need a bath about every six months. Very importantly, your cat needs to be fed, and heres some food suggestions for your cat:
Jellymeat(aspic)
cat biscuits
raw meat(cut into little pieces)
water
milk
Most cats love toys or string. Make sure a cat toy does not have little parts that your cat can easily swallow. You can get catnip from your local pet store. If you spray some on their toys they should really enjoy it.
A cat will need a place to sleep. On your bed is fine or you could buy a pet basket.
A cat will want its own special food bowl. One way to distinguish which cats bowl it is can be perhaps by having a different coloured bowl for each one of your cats.
Be careful!!! Keep cats away from vicious dogs, or else there will be danger for the cat. If you find your cat bitten by a dog quickly take it over to the vet. It might need stitches. Keep it calm after a dog attack so it doesn't have a heart attack. Your cat will also want a name. You could name the cat depending on its features or characteristics. For example, if it was a white cat, you could call it Snowy, or if it had different coloured feet you could call it Sox, and so on.
If your cat's a female and it has kittens you will have to look after the kittens until they are about 6 weeks or old enough to go to another home or you may opt on keeping them.
A cat may get fleas so you should go to the vet and buy some flea powder for your cat. Spray the flea powder on the cats basket or on them. This should get rid of the fleas. However make sure that you do not spray on the cat's face as this can sting their eyes.
If you get a white cat put sunscreen on their ears and nose because they are at higher risk of getting cancer in those areas. Cats do not like loud noises. This is because their ears are more sensitive than humans.
A cat might need a kitty litter box to go toilet in. A good idea is to put the kitty litter box in your house, particularly if your cats sleep inside. It's also important to clean your cat's kitty litter box daily to avoid germs and diseases.
